Why you'll love it...

2nd Wave is our final collaboration with the folks at Black Jazz, and it's a needed one: This album is one of the hardest to track down of the original run of the label's releases, selling for hundreds of dollars. The album features a unique twin-keyboard line-up of Haynes and Kirk Lightsey, anchored by rhythm section of Carl Burnett (Cal Tjader, Vince Guaraldi, Gene Harris, The Three Sounds) and Henry “The Skipper” Franklin (leader on a couple of Black Jazz titles, Ornette Coleman, Don Cherry, etc). The cascading sound of the electric pianos brings to mind Miles Davis’ early ‘70s electric bands and Herbie Hancock’s Head Hunters album, plus later fusion players like Jan Hammer.
