Early in his career, Markese Wright, known by his moniker as SpaceGhostPurrp, grew his following with a series of mixtapes and remixes. Shortly thereafter, he formed the Raider Klan hip-hop collective, collaborating with and enlisting artists like Denzel Curry, Yung Simmie and more while solidifying his role in the underground hip-hop and skating community.
In 2012, SpaceGhostPurrp released his debut and only studio album, Mysterious Phonk: The Chronicles of SpaceGhostPurrp, on 4AD. SpaceGhostPurrp follows the influence of artists and groups like Three 6 Mafia, UGK, DJ Paul, Eazy E, Tupac and DJ Screw, and his album, which compiled his previously released and new works, reflects hallucinogenic elements.
Limited to 1,000 copies, the VMP exclusive edition reissue of SpaceGhostPurrp's Mysterious Phonk: The Chornicles of SpaceGhostPurrp is pressed on 2LP Red with Black Splatter vinyl at GZ Vinyl. The record will arrive in a widespine direct-to-board, foil stamped and numbered jacket. The album is mastered by Geoffe Pesche of Abbey Road Studios.
