Originally released in 1974, The Soul Searchers' Salt of the Earth is now available. The Washington D.C. soul group, lead by Chuck Brown, influenced both funk and hip-hop by supplying a force behind go-go music and becoming of the most sampled albums in hip-hop music, with the drum break from "Ashley's Roachclip" adding to tracks from Run D.M.C., LL Cool J, 2Pac, Public Enemy, and more.
Limited to 1000 copies, the VMP exclusive version of The Soul Searchers' Salt of the Earth is pressed on Opaque Blue vinyl at Gotta Groove Records. The 1LP will arrive in a single, direct-to-board, foil-stamped and numbered jacket. It was mastered by Mike Milchner at Sonic Vision Mastering.
