Tim Showalter began the Strand of Oaks project in 2003. The rock singer and songwriter is joined by Kevin Ratterman and a lineup of other musicians and artists making appearances on the album. Releasing the single “Galacticana” ahead of the album’s debut, Showalter sings a sincere score of hope. Showalter recorded the album during the COVID-19 pandemic, opting to channel a message of optimism amid a time of crisis. In Heaven brushes against the moments of grief and joy, and the moments of weakness and strength.
