Desaparecidos' Read Music/Speak Spanish feels just as relevant now as it did during the post 9/11 era in which the album was released. The album was recorded in late 2001 with Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst, Denver Dalley, Landon Hedges, Ian McElroy and Matt Baum over the course of a week. The Desaparecidos' debut album documents commentary surrounding urban development, the sacrifice of human value for the dollar bill, and the new American Dream.
Limited to 1,000 copies, the VMP exclusive edition of Desaparecidos' Read Music/Speak Spanish is pressed on 1LP Cloudy Blue vinyl at GZ Vinyl and mastered by Ted Jensen of Sterling Sound. The record will arrive in a single direct-to-board, foil stamped and numbered jacket along with a download code. The download code includes two bonus tracks, "What's New for Fall" and "Give Me the Pen." The record will also include a photo collage poster insert.
