This month for the April Golden Ticket Giveaway we are SO stoked to be giving away 10 pair of LSTN Troubadour headphones! Yes, you heard correctly, 10 members of Vinyl Me, Please will be receiving a new pair of some of the sexiest headphones we’ve ever let rest on our earholes. Why? Because we love you.
As is tradition, we gave them a test spin at the office and here’s the bottom line: there is more beauty and value packed into these natural wood wonders than a seafood brunch buffet (unlimited crab legs) at the local country club.
Each Troubadour headphone features natural, reclaimed-wood encasing that gives it aesthetic appeal most other high-end headphones can’t touch. In addition, the unpluggable, nylon cables are a robust substitute for the typical rubber-coated version that often end up in a tangled, knotted, spider’s nest of a mess.
Comfort is supreme - our head of marketing wore these on a 4-hr plane ride and fell asleep with them on well after his iPhone battery ran out. At first we were concerned by the thinness of the metal components connecting each ear piece, but after hours of use found them to be surprisingly tough, the lightweight nature proving to be much more of a positive (light on the head) vs a liability.
Sonically can you find a better headphone, yes, but you’d have to spend $200-$300 more before you’d be able to tell a marked difference. We tested on a wide variety of genres and found the sonic acuity to be remarkable given the price point. "Numb" from Andy Stott’s Luxury Problems had the depth in the low-end that can often be missed altogether by a lesser headphone. The high-end keys & percussion on Damon Albarn’s “Lonely Press Play” from Everyday Robots were crisp and were only slightly buried during the punchiest of bass notes.
So yeah…we like them…a lot. And we think you will too :) If you don’t have the pleasure of receiving a free pair in the mail this month we highly recommend you check them out. We’ll bet you that Sunday brunch that you won’t regret it!
