The latest 12on12 ‘’vinylworks'' comes from a collaboration with producer and rapper Swizz Beatz. The collaboration features a list of songs curated by Swizz Beatz himself that honor the sounds and artists of jazz, from Miles Davis to Kenny Dorham and beyond. The album's artwork comes from Swizz Beatz's personal collection of historic photographs, taken by Kwame Brathwaite in 1968, whose own history with jazz began as a co-founder of the African Jazz Arts Society and Studios (AJASS). From the curation, down to album art and selection of songs adorned on each side of the record, it's a highly intentional journey and appreciation of jazz.
