Why you'll love it...

Blacknuss is a reissue of multi-instrumentalist Rahsaan Roland Kirk's 1972 album. At the time, soul music and jazz had diverged from one another as two separate genres rather than ones that complemented another. With this change, Kirk sought to reunite the two with their shared purpose as a channel of Black liberation. The record features reimaginings of classics like Bill Withers' "Ain't No Sunshine," Marvin Gaye's "What's Goin' On" and more, along with Kirk's titular original "Blacknuss."

The VMP edition of Rahsaan Roland Kirk's Blacknuss is limited to 1,000 copies and is pressed on 1LP Clear with Black Wisps vinyl. It will arrive in a single direct-to-board jacket that is both foil stamped and numbered. The record is mastered by Cohearant Audio's Kevin Gray.
