Whitty’s current solo project is a departure from the improvisation-focused collaborative band BADBADNOTGOOD that he came up in. Anyhow began in 2020 after Whitty had finished working on several film score projects including Disappearance at Clifton Hill (Albert Shin) and Learn to Swim (Thyrone Tommy). That focus on narrative fed into his own work, which combined elements of cinematic composition with jazz and rock like he has created in the past. Featuring band members Alex and Chester from BADBADNOTGOOD and Whitty's brother Lowell, approaching the tracks like a director, asking contributors to execute in an organic way and editing the results.
Limited to 500 copies, the VMP exclusive version of Leland Whitty's Anyhow is pressed on Olive Green vinyl at GZ Vinyl. The 1LP will arrive in a single, direct-to-board, foil-stamped and numbered jacket with a download code. It was mastered by Joao Carvalho at Joao Carvalho Mastering.
