It’s hard to think of an album we listened to more than this one this summer, and for good reason. Amid a genre that has become increasingly polished over the last few years, Langhorne Slim takes folk rock back to its wild roots with a record that’s as raw as it is beautiful, and heartbreakingly honest. Opening with a title track that pulls you immediately into the mayhem that is Sean Scolnick, “The Way We Move” never loses that intensity as he belts about the pain of lost love, the death of family members, and coming to grips with himself and his demons. This album is one hell of a ride and, if you’re anything like us, you’ll be starting it again as soon as it finishes.
