Nothing says you're in paradise like the music of Hawai'i. Following their tour across Hawai'i's islands, Kalapana headed to California in 1975 to begin their debut album, the self-titled Kalapana. The members – Mackey Feary, Malani Bilyeu, David John and Kirk Thompson – already understood what it took to make an incredible record. After all, they grew up with bands and artists like the Beatles, Tower of Power, Eric Clapton and more. With the music's guitar, bass, vocals and keyboards under their belt and ready to go, the band tapped producer Barry Alan Fasman to work his magic for the rest.
