Native Texan and country singer-songwriter Joshua Ray Walker debuted the critically acclaimed 2019 album Wish You Were Here, following up with Glad You Made It in 2020. Releasing his third album within three years, Walker concludes the musical installment with his newest album See You Next Time.
“The whole idea with the trilogy was to use the honky-tonk as a setting where all these different characters could interact with each other," Walker shared. In the final installment of his trilogy, Walker blurs the line between fiction and reality, using both as a way to share significant revelations. “I learned a long time ago that writing from a character's perspective lets me examine things about myself without ever feeling too self-conscious about it," he noted. An album fueled by a dance between heavy lyricism and sonic textures, Walker's See You Next Time brings a suitable end to a series that bared a collection of stories.
