Why you'll love it...

Dead Boys hailed from Cleveland, Ohio, and relocated to New York to become one of the first U.S. punk bands. Originally signed to Sire Records, the Dead Boys were notorious for their edgy attitude and songs. After frequent shows at CBGB, the club owner of CBGB became their manager. Dead Boys' debut studio album, Young, Loud and Snotty was recorded and released in 1977 (produced by rock singer Genya Ravan) and quickly became one of the definitive U.S. punk rock albums. The album is the only Dead Boys album to chart, peaking at No. 189 on the Billboard 200 chart in November 1977. Young, Loud and Snotty made it onto the reader-poll selected "The 10 Best Punk Albums" in Rolling Stone.

The band broke up after one more album in 1979, although there have been periodic reunions since then, including a re-recorded version of their debut album made in 2017. Despite their small discography, the influence of the Dead Boys can still be seen in more contemporary covers of their songs by Guns N' Roses and Pearl Jam.
