The Queen of Soul released Spirit in the Dark in 1970 as her 17th studio album and includes the hit singles "Don't Play That Song" and "Spirit in the Dark." In addition to having several covers from artists like B.B. King, Carole King, Dr. John, Jimmy Reed and more, the album features five of Aretha Franklin's own compositions, becoming the most she had ever recorded for a single album.
The reissue of Spirit in the Dark is exclusive to VMP. It's pressed on Blue Galaxy vinyl.
