Starting today, Vinyl Me, Please is carrying a curated selection of Analogue Productions' Acoustic Sounds titles in our online store, building on a partnership with Salina, KS based QRP pressing plant and audiophile reissue label Analogue Productions. Check them out here.
“When thinking about partners in the vinyl industry, few so wholeheartedly share our passion for quality as Chad Kassem,” said VMP Chief Brand Officer Cameron Schaefer about the owner of Quality Record Pressing (QRP) and the audiophile reissue label Analogue Productions. “In carving out a section of our online store to carry a curated selection of Analogue Productions titles, we are not just highlighting great albums, but also a partner who understands that details matter.”
Over the past two years Vinyl Me, Please has been working closely with Chad Kassem and his teams that oversee QRP, one of the best pressing plants in the world, as well as Analogue Productions, the audiophile reissue label specializing in AAA (all-analog) reissues of classic titles.
As part of this budding partnership Vinyl Me, Please moved all of its Classics subscription pressings to QRP in spring of 2019, starting with the reissue of Al Green’s Call Me, heralded by Analog Planet’s Michael Fremer as “perfect” in his 10/10 review. Since then many members have taken note of the stellar sound quality and care that is becoming a hallmark of this partnership.
The mastering & pressing process for both Vinyl Me, Please Classics and Analogue Productions follow a similar methodology: Audio sourced exclusively from original analog master tapes, lacquers cut direct from the tape to lacquer with no digital delay and pressed on 180g black vinyl at QRP. While this recipe seems simple, it’s seldom used for other reissues either due to cost, time or inability to secure the master tapes. And yet, when it is adhered to the results can be incredible, and that’s why we’re carrying a selection of Analogue Productions titles in our store.
To launch the partnership with Analogue Productions, Vinyl Me, Please has selected 25 titles to carry in their online store. These include audiophile reissues from artists like Nina Simone, Muddy Waters, Otis Redding, The Doors & more.
