In the years since Spacemen 3 broke up and his first solo album, Spectrum, Sonic Boom has worked with a who's who of sonically pushing indie rock bands, from MGMT to Beach House and Panda Bear, and toured and performed intermittently. He recently decided to make his return to solo work, with All Things Being Equal. Sonic Boom’s second album and first for Carpark began in 2015 as electronic jams. The original sketches of electronic patterns, sequenced out of modular synths, were so appealing that Stereolab’s Tim Gane encouraged Kember to release them instrumentally.
