It's no surprise that the third Thursday of the month has become our favorite day. The third Thursday means we get to meet fellow members, drink craft beers and cocktails paired to music, listen to fantastic records, watch live bands, and most importantly, be in a community of like-minded, music-loving new friends at what we call: THE SPINS.
We're in our 7th edition of our national vinyl listening parties and couldn't be happier. 22 venues featured the Glass Animals' Record of the Month while putting their own spin (did you catch that?) on the night. There was a trivia game, a wine and vinyl pairing night, two vinyl swap meets, vinyl happy hours, four live bands, and handful of vinyl DJs! We even had a vinyl silent disco powered out of a VW bus in Miami thanks to Silent Revolution, taking THE SPINS from bars, breweries, wineries, clubs, music venues, to now, parks. Challenge? Where can we take this next?
In Brooklyn, we celebrated one of our Store Exclusive artists,Trapo, where he headlined a show at Baby’s All Right with local opening acts brought by Mermaid Ave. Guests left with copies of his EP 'She' and of course, good memories. We were excited to support more local acts in Denver, as Sunboy rocked the outdoor stage at Black Shirt Brewery and longtime ambassador, DJ Details, kept the vinyl spinning. THE SPINS vinyl happy hours were followed by more live acts at The Open Chord, The Nightingale Room, and Songbyrd, just to name a few, making these nights not only about appreciating vinyl, but also about supporting the local music scenes and building a national music community.
Okay, okay... we can go on forever. Wait, is that an option?
A picture is worth a thousand words, so here's a glimpse of what September had to offer:
