It's part of the established lore of Person Pitch, an album that feels like a melding of a million reference points, and then filtered into Panda Bear's new sound, that Noah Lennox thanks a ton of artists in the booklet/liner notes that come with the album. It's mentioned in the first sentence of the album's 9.4 review on Pitchfork, and it even takes up a sizable part of the album's entry on Wikipedia. No one really knows why Lennox thanked Capone-N-Noreaga and Wolfgang Voigt, or Wu-Tang and SRC, but he did.

What do these artists have in common beyond their appearance in the liner notes on one of the best indie rock albums from 2007? We don't know. But we do know that we made a 104-song playlist that has a song from each artist that we think Lennox was into when he made Person Pitch. This playlist will take you seven hours and 53 minutes to complete, but we think you'll understand the inspiration Lennox took from all of these artists after listening to it, and maybe, you'll appreciate Person Pitch a little better too. You can listen here, or below.
