The album was recorded in late 2001 with Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst, Denver Dalley, Landon Hedges, Ian McElroy and Matt Baum over the course of a week. The Desaparecidos' debut album documents commentary surrounding urban development, the sacrifice of human value for the dollar bill, and the new American Dream.
