Due to COVID-19 and its impact on manufacturing, we are experiencing pre-order delays more frequently. We’ll keep the estimated ship months as up to date as possible, but please be advised.

If you have multiple products in your order, you can choose the ‘Direct Ship’ option to receive products as they become available in multiple shipments. Otherwise, they will be grouped in a single shipment (or your next ROTM shipment for members) after all products are received at our warehouse.

Since pre-order albums are not available to ship until the manufacturing completes, the actual ship date can shift. If there is a delay, we will always contact you.

Yasmin Williams’ origins in music humbly began once she completed the game Guitar Hero 2 on expert level. Only two years passed by before Williams composed her own EP as a sophomore in high school. Now, Williams has released her expansive latest album, Urban Driftwood. At her core, Williams derives inspiration from familiar names found on the guitar video game, like Jimi Hendrix and Nirvana, however, Urban Driftwood veers toward the sounds of celebrated Black women guitarists such as Elizabeth Cotten, Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Algia Mae Hinton. Williams references the music of West African griots on the album with her kora compositions and collaboration with Amadou Kouyate, the 150th generation djeli hand drummer of the Kouyate family. The instrumental album’s compositions twist through a portrait of Williams’ personal passage through her time and career, integrating a shower of cultural, sweet melodies and rhythms.
