In 2017, Amindi broke out with the smash hit ‘’Pine & Ginger,'' a dancehall-inspired track that landed her an invite to perform for the Prime Minister of Jamaica and her first record deal. But Amindi wanted creative control, and was in no rush to make a formal debut. Four years later, Amindi released nice, her 2021 EP.
Reflecting on the EP in an interview with VMP, Amindi said, ‘’When making nice, I didn’t want any romantic songs. This was about me.'' Across all eight tracks is a deeper message of loving yourself.
