Hosted by executive producer and VMP Director of Music Andrew Winistorfer, this season of the VMP Anthology Podcast is devoted to exploring how radical these albums were, and what they did to music after their release.
AAA Masterpieces
The seven albums — In a Silent Way, Bitches Brew, A Tribute to Jack Johnson, Live-Evil, On The Corner, Big Fun and Get Up With It — have all been mastered AAA from 1-to-1 tape transfers of the master tapes by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound. The 11 LPs featured in the box come on 180g black vinyl, pressed at GZ, and will be limited in the first edition to 2,000 units. These albums have not been reissued AAA in many years, and in some cases, ever.

Read the story of these seven albums in a very special 24-page Listening Notes and photo booklet written by jazz critic and historian Ben Ratliff.
Premium Commemorative Box
Designed in-house at VMP, these records are housed in a deluxe box featuring an iconic portrait of Miles in the style of the great Tadayuki Naitoh, and metallic silver ink on the text. The inner slipcase features a full-band live photo from the era.
How Was The Audio Sourced?
All seven of the albums in this VMP Anthology are AAA, cut directly from fully analog tape-to-tape transfers of the master tapes by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound.

What is VMP Anthology?
VMP Anthology is the vinyl box set, reinvented. It aims to use music to tell a story, and gives space for lots of listening, learning, and conversation along the way.
What is VMP?
VMP started as a record of the month club in 2013. Today it has 4 subscription Tracks (Essentials, Classics, Hip Hop, Country — more to come) and it’s first Limited subscription with Dolly Parton. VMP also has an online record store and magazine.
How much is shipping? How will shipping work?
Shipping is free in the U.S. and $30 internationally. Records will be sent in one shipment.
How is the experience structured?
We created VMP Anthology for people who recognize that every album has a deep story to tell. By breaking up the albums, we give you space to truly listen and absorb each individual recording, listen to the podcast and soak it in. Of course, this is just a suggestion!
Do I need to be a VMP member to purchase this?
Nope! We built VMP Anthology as a way for all fans to experience music more deeply, and VMP membership is not required.
Is this available internationally? What about customs?
Yes, shipping is available in 16 countries in addition to the U.S. (view all FAQs for more details). Due to the box value and carrier constraints, international customers are responsible for customs and duties. When shipping to a country that is subject to VAT, this will also be due upon receipt.
